Character Design.

This is Terry the Toucan.

He's still in the early stages of design but I quite like him!
He's for my new story!

What do you think???

Hooot.

These are some owls I drew a few weeks back.
I like drawing owls.
The last owl is super pretty...especially in the actual photo!

Want a Free Print?

I recently came across this amazing giveaway thing by the Drawing Book Studios...it's very simple, all you do is click on the picture you like and email a nice guy called Matt saying what power is to you and then you share it with friends and get a free print! If you love art you know you're going to have to do this !! You can comment on as many prints as you like too!

I commented on this lovely picture by Nathaniel Eckstrom!

Go on! Your know you want to!

Random ramblings of a sick and achey Lady.

Awful photo of me.

As a British person I do enjoy to complain...i've recently got myself a part time christmas job at Next. I've just finished my first week there. I am enjoying it and some of the people are sooo lovely...but...my body isn't used to such activities as looking up for ages for tag numbers and running up and down tall ladders (which scare me to death)and so my feet, calves and neck are acheing... and I have a horrible headache from drinking too much lovely Starbucks coffee...ugh.

I've been chilling, eating cheese toasties and watching Hercules (disney cartoon not the tv series, which I love too). Bruce is snuggled up in my spare quilt and my repltiles are keeping nice and toasty.

I'm working on some stories and little drawings... as i've been inspired by the lovely Viviane Schwarz! You should look at her blog as she's awesome!

Never Let Me Go.

Just playing about with some font.

Recently I have been listening to Ceremonials by Florence and the Machine and every time I listening to Never Let Me Go I imagined Florence as a mermaid...so I painted her as one. I also did a little giveaway, where I asked my followers to guess the artist and song.

Christmas cards (roughs).

Party Penguin, Sleepy dog and Happy Polar Bear. These are a few of the christmas card designs that I have been working on...I think the polar bear might need a bit more work but i'll see if I have time. I do like my party penguin.

These are a couple of rough designs that I like and will turn into neat versions.

I will be getting some of these printed very soon so please let me know if you are interested in purchasing some.

Long Overdue.

I tried to upload this in time for Halloween, but alas my internet connection was rubbish...but NOW...I have proper broadband! I'm so happy! Mr. Walrus wasn't sure what to wear for Halloween!

Drawings.

Hello!

As of late I have been working on a Children's Book for my sister. Not sure if we will be sending the book off to a Publisher, I think we're mainly doing it for her children. The story is about her new adorable puppy, Harry.

I have also been enjoying doing some self portraits. This is me looking quite freaked out... but what is it??

I'm also editing my Dirty Dog story as I got some good advice from a publisher. I hope I can edit it in such a way that they want to publish it.

Apologies.

I've not blogged in quite a while and I do apologise for this!

These are some of the hi-lights from my trip to London in June/July...

This is the pub/hotel I stayed in. It had a brewery in it too which smelt lovely on hot and sunny days.

This is Me eating a Red Velvet Cupcake at the Hummingbird Bakery. I wish there was one of these lovely bakeries near Preston! Though it's probably for the best!

This is Me and Tom on the tube. I loved the tube (when it wasn't jam-packed full of people).

This is a super cute bat that I saw in the Natural History Museum.

This is ME with Charles Darwin! Well...a statue of him...but STILL! I was so happy at the Natural History Museum! I can imagine spending days in there...More photos to come at somepoint!

I'm currently working on a few stories and a few commisions for my family and friends...I feel itchy to draw...i'm going to draw animals...what animals??? ANY AND ALL! Muhaha!

Sneaky Sneaky.

Here's a slight peek at roughs for a story i'm currently working on.

I have a Degree!

This is me and my proud Mum at my Graduation!

It's been a while!

I went to London the other week for the D&AD New Blood show to exhibit
and I explored the land a bit as i'd never been to London before.

I also went to Sonisphere to relax and rock out to cool bands.

AND...

Just this Friday gone by I became a Graduate! I am now Emma Collins BA!!!

I'm currently working on some exciting things...promotional packs and new stories!

Photos to come soon of my London adventure!

I have a lot to give.

I sometimes feel like giving up, but i'm too stubborn.

Thank goodness for mothers telling you they believe in you.

Devious Plans.

At the moment I have nothing to do really. With uni pretty much over all I have been doing is tidying the house, watching films and playing with my dogs. Recently though I was inspired to re-do a story I did in my first year at uni, about origami. I have so many good ideas and I feel so inspired! I can't wait to actually make something! At the moment i'm just in the "writing the story and sketching" stage. I'm so excited. Maybe I could send it off to some publishers when it's done...but we shall see.

Things for Sale.

As you may know, I am a skint student.

I'm trying to save up for my degree shows and general living, so if you would like to buy some of my artwork then please let me know by emailing me at cheeseyem13@hotmail.com

I've got plenty of free time at the moment so i'm ready to be commisioned for portraits, album covers, sweet paintings for gifts.

What i'm up to...

Last week I finished uni. It felt weird...and it still does a bit. My pictures were up on the wall, all work (apart from a few bits I forgot cause i'm an idiot)handed in, three hours sleep and I got my promotional pack > done! Woo.

I didn't cry...though I probably will at one of the exhibitions...which you should come to...

This beautiful poster is illustrated by my fellow talented classmate, Stavros Siamptanis.

At the moment i'm working on a story I wrote and illustrated a few years back. It wasn't good enough to send off to Macmillan, and i've got some great ideas to simplify and illustrate it...very excited!

Madness.

Tonight/ this morning holds the last few remaingin hours that I can get my work finished to take to class tomorrow. I feel so far away from the end. It's my own fault...every year I do the same damn thing.

I had a terrible day and it's still going...though i'm not angry or crying anymore...just a bit numb and feeling insane.

The End is Nigh!

Puppets ideas.

Animal Farm Book Covers.

Any feedback on these would be great as I don't think i'm there yet with the design. Shall keep experimenting.

Animal Farm Chapter Pages.

I still need to do some work on chapter 3, 6 and 7. Shall upload them soon.
